Houston Rockets center Alperen Sengun, 24, is touted as one of the best modern centers in Europe and a star on Turkey's national team.
For the Rockets fanbase, the starting point is statistical: Sengun has a below-average 30% three-pointer throughout his career. So when asked if he could reach a ceiling of 40% in perimeter shooting this season, he responded with a balanced smile: "Let's see". In praise of the partnership, Sengun called Engelland "amazing" and "genius". "You can see it now", he said. "Putting in small details on some things I need to improve, and Chip is very good at that: watching a lot of short videos, telling me all the details, making videos".

Prior to the season opener, the team travels to Macau for two preseason games against the Dallas Mavericks.

At the moment, Sengun's project is in a transitional phase: he maintains the pivotal foundation that enshrined him at Turkey and Houston Rockets but tries to turn outside pitching into an actual part of the arsenal.
