Alex Sarr should be ready for the Wizards' tight end of the season.
Alex Sarr, 21, will begin training camp on a gradual basis while he completes recovery from a fractured right foot that was operated on in June. General manager Will Dawkins expects him to be available for the regular-season opener.[1] Prior to his injury, Sarr averaged 16.3 points and 7.4 rebounds per game as part of the franchise's reconstruction project.[2]

France's center Alex Sarr, 21, will begin training camp for the Washington Wizards gradually, but the franchise expects to have him on the court in the first game of the NBA regular season.
The information is from general manager Will Dawkins, who explained that the young team jersey will initially participate in only some collective activities while completing the recovery of a fracture in his right foot.
The Root of the Problem
In June, Sarr underwent surgery on his right foot. What was worrying behind the scenes is that it wasn't the first setback: before this, a problem in the big toe of his left foot had already ended prematurely his campaign in the season 2025-26.
In other words, in a few months the French language suffered two physical interruptions which explains the extra caution of the technical committee.
The numbers before the stop
Before the season was ended by injury, Sarr averaged 16.3 points, 7.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists while shooting 48 percent from the field and 33 percent from three-point range.
For a rebuilding franchise that has staked heavily on the development of center , maintaining this pace of evolution is key to Project and it's why the Wizards prefer to manage load in training camp rather than force an immediate return.
Where things are now
The current picture is one of controlled optimism: Sarr will be part of some pre-season activities at an increasing pace, and the organization's internal target is the regular season debut.
