What happened?
Botafogo confirmed on Thursday that Edenilson suffered a muscle injury in his right thigh. The recovery period estimated by the medical department is four to six weeks which takes the midfielder off the grass for much of the final stretch of the Brazilian Championship .
The club's official note was blunt: "Athlete Edenilson suffered a muscle injury to his right thigh in the match against Mirassol, with an estimated return time of between four and six weeks".
The Root of the Problem
The steering wheel felt a muscular discomfort before the game against Grêmio, but nevertheless entered the field and fought for the 3-2 victory at Nilton Santos, coming out at halftime.
The following Saturday, in the 2-0 defeat to Mirassol for the 28th round of Brasileirão, Edenilson started on the bench.
Timeline of recovery
- 7 October Classic against Vasco at Nilton Santos for the 29th round, 8:30 p.m., and Edenilson is out.
- 12 October It's unlikely, but it will depend on the developments.
