Basketball Champions League partners with Deutsche Telekom for the new season

Exclusive rights granted to Deutsche Telekom
The Basketball Champions League (BCL), FIBA's main club competition for sporting merit, will be broadcast exclusively in Germany by MagentaSport, Deutsche Telekom's platform.
With the agreement, MagentaSport consolidates its position in German basketball.The extension of cooperation with the German Basketball Federation had already been sealed before and now the Champions League is added to the package.
Dorothea Jacob, Vice-Chairman of the Proposal & Content from MagentaTV, stated that "MagentaSport remains the home of basketball" and highlighted that the broadcaster wants to make the sport even more popular and visible in the country.
On the competition side, BCL CEO Patrick Comninos celebrated the partnership and recalled that Germany is one of Europe's leading basketball markets with four national clubs in contention this season, MagentaSport's reach should bring the league closer to more fans.
Season 11: Four German teams on the court
The eleventh season of the BCL starts on October 6th. MagentaSport will show vivo and exclusively the games of four German representatives:

In total, up to 64 matches will be broadcast on vivo throughout the season, with highlights available and German-language narration in clashes between German teams and in the Final Four.
The road to the title: 2026-27 season format
There will be 32 teams competing, and here's how the schedule works: a.
- Regular season (October 6 to December 23, 2026): eight groups of four teams; leaders advance directly to the Round of 16
- Play-ins: 2nd and 3rd placed teams will compete for the remaining eight spots
- Round of 16: four groups of four teams; the top two from each group go on to compete
- The quarter-finals: contested at best of 3
- Final four .: the winners of the clashes decide the title
The current champion is Lithuania's Rytas Vilnius, who enters the new season as defending champions.
Where does that leave us ?
With Season 11 set for 6 October, the preparation phase has given way to a countdown: all four German clubs already know the full format of the competition and fans know exactly where to follow each ball.
